LADBROKE RACING CORPORATION TO TRANSFER EXECUTIVES TO PITTSBURGH

MEADOW LANDS, Pa., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Ladbroke Racing Corporation, headquartered in Livonia, Mich., will transfer several of its corporate executives to offices in the Pittsburgh area later this month, it was announced today.
In a reorganization move spurred by the appointment of Ladbroke's new president, John R. Long, earlier this year, Ladbroke's financial and development departments will move from their current offices at the Detroit Race Course (DRC) to office space located in the Greentree borough of Pittsburgh.
William J. Bork, Ladbroke's vice president of operations, will remain in the Detroit offices to oversee the Ladbroke-DRC operations. Max Harris, who was previously responsible for the track's operations as vice president of marketing, has been appointed president of Ladbroke-Argentina. He will continue to operate from the Detroit offices.
John J. Ford has also been appointed to the newly created position of vice president and general counsel of Ladbroke Racing Corporation. His appointment is effective April 15. Ford has been working as an attorney in the law firm of Eckert, Seamans, Cherin & Mellott of Pittsburgh.

Long said the move was a logical one. "While we need to keep close ties to Detroit, we have anticipated a steady growth in our centers in this eastern region of the country," he said. "Our plans require us to be in close proximity to these growth areas."
In Western Pennsylvania, Ladbroke owns and operates Ladbroke at The Meadows and five off-track wagering sites. In addition to the Detroit Race Course, Ladbroke also owns and/or operates Golden Gate Fields in Albany, Calif., and Valley Racing Association in Harlingen, Texas.
Company officials said the Pittsburgh offices will open April 19.
