LADBROKE AT THE MEADOWS SAYS PRESIDENTIAL BALL MAY RACE AT THE ADIOS

MEADOW LANDS, Pa., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- It appears that the top 3-year-old pacing colt in the world will be coming to Ladbroke at The Meadows in August for the prestigious Adios, it was announced today.
Presidential Ball, winner of over $1.4 million this year and coming off a victory in the Meadowlands Pace in New Jersey this past Saturday night is apparently leaning toward entering The Coors Adios "Pace for the Orchids" on Aug. 14, the Ladbroke spokesman said.
Although The Adios is not the highest purse event on the 3-year-old tour each season, it is considered one of the most prestigious and it has always had a tradition for getting the top colts in the country, the track spokesman said. Trained by William Robinson and owned by Antonio Chiaravalle of Hamilton, Ontario, Presidential Ball has won nine out of 10 times this season and appears headed for Horse of the Year honors, the Ladbroke spokesman said.
The Adios also has a rich tradition of racing surprises as well. Although Presidential Ball will be the favorite if he enters the race, it is no automatic thing that he will win it, the Ladbroke spokesman said. In 1985, Nihilator was considered the best racing machine in the world but on a sunny day in August of that year, Nihilator came to The Meadows and lost to a lesser known and lesser talented colt in Marauder, the spokesman said.
