LADBROKE: RACING COMMISSION RELEASES PURSE FOR RIYADH

MEADOW LANDS, Pa., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission announced today that it has released the purse for Riyadh from The Adios on Aug. 14.
With the release of the purse, Ladbroke at The Meadows is today announcing that Riyadh's world record of 1:50.1 in the second division of The Adios will stand. In addition, track officials said commission tests have concluded that both urine and blood tests on Riyadh showed there were no illegal substances in the horse. Riyadh has also been cleared of any "milkshaking allegations."
With the announcement, only Native Born, trained by William Keeping, remains under investigation.
Riyadh finished second in the accident-marred Adios Final after winning his division in world record time of 1:50.1.
"The commission conducted exhaustive tests on Riyadh and we are totally satisfied with the results," said Meadows spokesman Bob Sabot. "Hopefully, the results will completely assure the betting in regards to events surrounding Adios Day. We're glad for Riyadh and we're glad for the track. We're particularly pleased that we can keep the world record," Sabot said.
