 LACTC PRESENTS 'ROLL OUT' CEREMONY OF SHUTTLE VANS FOR DISABLED
 WHAT: "Roll Out" ceremony of specialized shuttle vans for
 disabled riders -- who can now for the first time go where
 they want to go with this unique transportation program
 called "Metro Access."
 WHEN: Monday, Aug. 10
 11 a.m.
 WHERE: Huntington Memorial Hospital
 100 W. California Blvd. (entrance on California)
 Pasadena
 WHO: Los Angeles County Transportation Commission (LACTC)
 INVITED SPEAKERS:
 Robert Gorski, LACTC's Specialized Transportation
 Advisory Committee
 Richard De Rock, program administrator, Consolidated
 Transportation Service Authority
 Kathryn Knack, vice mayor of Pasadena
 DETAILS: Metro Access, one of the region's first responses to
 the Americans With Disabilities Act, goes beyond
 regular dial-a-ride services allowing riders to travel
 beyond city borders -- to jobs, shopping centers, the
 movies or anywhere they want to go.
 VISUAL OPPORTUNITY: Brand new specially equipped shuttle vans
 will break through a banner, marking expanded service.
 Members of the disabled community will board for a ride
 to a neighboring city in celebration of their expanded
 travel opportunities.
