LAC MINERALS LTD. RECENT DRILL RESULTS FROM THE NEVADA PROJECT, CHILE

 TORONTO, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Lac Minerals Ltd. (NYSE: LAC) announced today results from ten additional drill holes from the company's 1992/1993 drill exploration program on the Nevada project in Chile. The recent drilling has improved the geological and structural understanding of the property. It has indicated that the mineralization is confined to the central Esperanza block to the southeast. Hole RDH 58, the southern most hole suggests continuity of mineralization and did not penetrate the entire thickness of the mineralized horizon.
 Highlights from the recent drilling include:
 RDH-53A 292 ft grading 0.037 Au opt;
 RDH-57 171 ft grading 0.034 Au opt;
 RDH-58 56 ft grading 0.251 Au opt, including an intersection of
 26 ft grading 0.499 Au opt.
 The results (see table below) from the ten new drill holes have extended the subhorizontal tabular gold and silver mineralized zone about 800 feet to the south from the previous drilling (see plan below). These drill holes including the previously released drill holes have now tested an area of approximately 2,000 by 650 feet. Results received to date show grades ranging from 0.009 ounces per ton gold over 46 feet to 1.141 ounces per ton gold over 105 feet. We expect drilling to stop for winter within the next two weeks.
 The 45,000 acre Nevada project is located about 30 miles north of Lac's El Indio Mine at an elevation of 15,000 feet. The property is owned by Compania Minera Nevada of which Lac indirectly, through its Chilean subsidiary, owns 80 per cent with the balance being held by the original Chilean owners.
