LABRUM & DOAK PARTNER TO CHAIR INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE

 PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas P. Grace, a partner and senior litigator at LaBrum & Doak, was appointed to a one-year term as chair of the Special Committee on Member Retention of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) during its recent annual meeting in London.
 The IADC, with members in 12 countries, was founded in 1920 and is the pre-eminent professional association of international defense attorneys and insurance and corporate counsel involved with the defense of civil litigation.
 Grace, an IADC member since 1983, just completed a two-year term as chair of the IADC's Task Force on Long Range Planning and co-authored a report, which he presented at the London meeting, entitled "The IADC in the Year 2000." He also serves as an editor for the newsletter of the IADC's Toxic and Hazardous Substances Litigation Committee.
 Grace is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. He joined LaBrum & Doak in 1974 following a clerkship with Judge James R. Cavanaugh, then of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Grace is a member of the Bench-Bar Conference Committee and the Volunteer Lawyer VIP Program of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Civil Litigation Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Torts and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, the Pennsylvania Claims Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the Defense Research and Trial Lawyers Association. Grace has extensive defense litigation experience in both state and federal courts, and concentrates his practice in the areas of general civil defense, products liability, environmental, and toxic tort cases.
 Grace lives in Ardmore with his wife and two children.
