LA-bound Jo fears the end for Downton.

Byline: EXCLUSIVE BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN

GOLDEN Globe-winning Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt is off to Hollywood because she fears the period drama may end soon.

The actress who plays Crawley family maid Anna Bates said writer Julian Fellowes had made no promises about its future.

Joanne, 34, plans to move to LA in August and said: "I'm a bit like a child in a sweetshop. I am really excited about it."

She said that at one stage 10 years was an "end point" for Downton, which had its first episode in 2010.

But she said: "Maybe 10 years is optimistic, we may be too old to play the characters as time goes by."

Her rape victim storyline in series five last year won Joanne the prize for best TV supporting actress at the Globes last week.
