LA QUINTA REALTY CORP. ELECTS DIRECTORS

 SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- La Quinta Realty Corp., the general partner of La Quinta Motor Inns Limited Partnership (NYSE: LQP) (the "partnership") today announced that the three vacant seats on its board of directors have been filled. Elected today were Jack Griggs, Arch K. Jacobson and John F. Sexton.
 Dr. Griggs is the dean of the School of Business of Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. He is president of Southwestern Bancorp, Inc. He also holds director seats on several boards of directors. He received his B.S. degree from Abilene Christian University, his MBA and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
 Jacobson currently serves as president of Jacobson-Berger Capital Group, Inc. in Dallas, Texas, specialists in real estate finance. He formerly was chairman and CEO of Union Pacific Realty Company. Prior to joining Union Pacific, Jacobson held various positions with The Prudential Insurance Company of America. He received a bachelor of science degree from Texas A & M University.
 Sexton presently serves as chairman of the board of Evans-McKinsey and Company, Dallas, Texas, a business consulting firm. Formerly he was the executive vice president - finance of Lomas Financial Group in Dallas. Sexton serves on several boards of directors including Americana Hotels and Realty Corporation. He received his B.S. degree from Notre Dame University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
 La Quinta Motor Inns Limited Partnership owns 31 La Quinta inns and 20 restaurants in 15 states.
