                 LA OPINION ANNOUNCES ZONED EDITIONS
IN SAN FERNANDO VALLEY AND ORANGE COUNTY
LOS ANGELES, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- La Opinion, the leading Spanish-language daily newspaper in the United States, today announced zoned editions in Orange County and the San Fernando Valley beginning Monday, June 22. La Opinion's zoned editions will be the first-ever by a Spanish-language newspaper in the nation.
Each zoned edition will feature front page news and a local metro section focusing on the community it serves. The zoned editions will run daily and will be distributed in Orange County and the San Fernando Valley.
"In response to the growth of the Latino community throughout Southern California and recognizing the geographic diversity of this community, we felt that zoned editions were a necessity since local news is the primary focus of our readers," stated La Opinion Editor Monica Lozano. As former publisher of El Eco del Valle, a San Fernando Valley weekly, Lozano is uniquely familiar with the concerns of the San Fernando Valley Latino community.
Zoned editions are one of the elements in La Opinion's aggressive marketing plan to better serve the Latino community. Publisher Jose Lozano stated, "Our 66 years of success can be attributed to our ability to keep pace with a changing community. These two zoned editions are the first step in developing a product that will serve the expanding and diverse Hispanic community in the L.A. ADI."
La Opinion has published daily in Los Angeles since 1926 and has a current circulation of 101,000. Its long-standing tradition as the voice of the Hispanic community will be enhanced with these two new zoned editions in Orange County and the San Fernando Valley.
