 L.A. GEAR APPOINTS THREE SENIOR EXECUTIVES
 LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- L.A. Gear Inc. (NYSE: LA)


announced today that three senior footwear industry executives have joined the company in the areas of Operations, Athletic Marketing and Marketing Services. All three senior executives are leaving Reebok International Ltd. to join L.A. Gear in these newly created positions.
 Mark Goldston, L.A. Gear President and Chief Operating Officer, said, "This is a very talented team of managers whom I worked closely with at Reebok. I know their work well and hired them because I believe they will repeat their prior footwear industry successes here at the new L.A. Gear."
 Christopher Walsh, 41, has joined L.A. Gear as Senior Vice President of Operations, with responsibility for development and production of all lines of footwear. Previously, he was Vice President of Production at Reebok for three years, where he was in charge of worldwide sourcing. Prior to joining Reebok, he spent two years at Toddler University, a children's shoe manufacturer, as Vice President of Operations. Earlier, he worked at Nike for 10 years in production and sourcing.
 Gordie Nye, 36, joins L.A. Gear as Vice President of Marketing, Athletic Footwear. At Reebok, he was Senior Director of Fitness Marketing, with responsibility for marketing men's and women's fitness products. He assumed the marketing responsibility for women's fitness products, including Step Reebok aerobic and women's cross training before adding responsibility for men's fitness.
 Robert Apatoff, 33, formerly Vice President of National Promotions and Sports Marketing at Reebok, joins L.A. Gear as Vice President of Marketing Services. In this capacity he will be responsible for the company's marketing support areas that include National and Retail Promotions, Point of Purchase materials, Marketing Communications, Sports Marketing and Trade Relations. Prior to joining Reebok, he worked at Anheuser Busch for seven years, where he headed up the National Promotions Department that developed the Bud Bowl and Budweiser 3 on 3 Challenge.
 L.A. Gear Inc. markets and designs fashion performance footwear. It is the third largest athletic footwear company in the nation.
