Kyrgyzstan considers joining to Group of States Against Corruption.

Currently, Kyrgyzstan is considering ratification of anti-corruption conventions of the Council of Europe (Civil Law Convention on Corruption, Criminal Law Convention on Corruption) and the issue of joining to the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO), Economy Minister Temir Sariev said on November 11 at an anti-corruption seminar on experience of the United Kingdom and Kyrgyzstan, reported Tazabek. Besides, the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan is studying a draft law on combating against money laundering and terrorism or extremist activity financing. "Taking into account interference into the business environment, facts of raiding, unfair competition, the Parliament is considering the establishment issue of an institution to protect rights of entrepreneurs - business ombudsman. It is believed that corruption can be reduced only with the participation and constructive cooperation with the civil sector. Therefore, the Ministry of Economy has created a platform for an open dialogue between the state authorities and civil society institutions," the Minister said.
