Kyrgyzstan, China discuss construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

First Vice Prime Minister Joomart Otorbaev met with China's Finance Minister Lou Jiwei on the sidelines of the World Bank-International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings, reported the Kyrgyz government's press service. Joomart Otorbaev thanked the Chinese Finance Minister for loans and grants provided by the Government of China for construction of roads and other infrastructure projects. The First Vice PM expressed interest of Kyrgyzstan in further attraction of Chinese investments. He noted that infrastructure development is a priority for the country. Possible construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which will create an alternative transport corridor for China and Turkey, EU and Iran, was discussed at the meeting among other issues. The agreement was reached that the investment proposals of Kyrgyzstan will be submitted to the Government of China through official channels. Joomart Otorbaev invited the Chinese Finance Minister to visit Kyrgyzstan.
