Kyrgyz lawmaker demands Community Development and Investment Agency to report on projects implemented in Kyrgyzstan.

MP Tursunbai Bakir uulu (Ar Namys) demanded from the Community Development and Investment Agency ARIS to report on the projects implemented in Kyrgyzstan. He voiced this demand at the meeting of the parliamentary committee on international affairs on January 28. The parliamentary committee considered the draft grant agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the International Development Association on co-financing of the Second Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project under which the World Bank is expected to provide over $0.5 million. ARIS will be an implementing agency of the project. The MP suggested that the quality of implementation of grants should be checked. "There are no visible results. ARIS should report on the previous projects. We need to postpone discussion of this issue, nothing will happen for a week. Money laundering is made through many international organizations. We need to see if the grant is used as planned, every som and expenditure of the grant should be checked," the lawmaker declared. The lawmaker also said he is against arrival of experts from the U.S. and Europe in connection with the project.
