Kyrgyz delegation participates in OSCE seminar on media freedom legal framework in Poland.
Annual seminar on media freedom legal framework of Organization for
Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) takes place in Warsaw, Poland
on May 13-16. Ukraine holds the chairmanship, the permanent
representation of Kyrgyzstan to the OSCE said. The Kyrgyz delegation is
headed by Member of Parliament, Ar Namys faction, Kanybek Osmonaliev.
Kyrgyzstan holds leading position on Internet users number among CIS
countries and Internet connectivity among Central Asian countries,
Kyrgyz MP said at the seminar on May 13. "Constitution of
Kyrgyzstan guarantees freedom of press, freedom to receive and give
information, which provide unhindered creation of mass media by anyone
and free information distribution excluding state secrets," Kanybek
Osmonaliev continued. Besides, there is no prohibition on censorship in
Kyrgyz constitution. Independent television an press do not have to
coordinate their materials with any state body. They cooperate with
international news agencies independently, and send personal
correspondents abroad, MP added.
