TOKYO - Motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha Motor Co. said Monday it will build a new factory in southern India in response to the expanding local market.

TOKYO - Nissan Motor Co. President and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn said Monday the Japanese automaker remains committed to producing 1 million units per year in Japan despite the strong yen.

---------- Toyota begins manufacturing Corolla sedan in new China factory

NAGOYA - Toyota Motor Corp. said Monday its new factory in Changchun in the northeastern Chinese province of Jilin started manufacturing the Corolla sedan for the local market.

---------- G-7 Holdings to tie up with Myanmar retail chain to sell farm items

OSAKA - G-7 Holdings Inc., the operator of supermarket and discount food store networks in Japan, said Monday it will tie up with Myanmar retail giant City Mart Holding Co. for the production and marketing of agricultural products in Myanmar.

---------- Dai Nippon Printing to set up packaging firm in Vietnam

TOKYO - Dai Nippon Printing Co. said Monday it will set up a factory in Vietnam, scheduled to start operations in April 2013, in response to growing demand for soft packaging, such as pouches and film wrappings of products including shampoo, dish soap, toothpaste and cosmetics.

TOKYO - Mitsui Chemicals Inc. said Monday the company and its group firm Prime Polymer Co. will expand production of automotive-use polypropylene in the United States, Mexico and China to meet growing global demand for the material.
