Kuwaiti Ambassador Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah meets the Mayor of Parma Federico Pizzarotti *****
ROME, May 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed means to pick up on Italy's expertise in the food industry during a visit to the northern city of Parma and ties between the two sides on the cultural and tourism spectrums.
This occurred as the Mayor of Parma Federico Pizzarotti took the ambassador on a tour of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in the city which lies in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy.
The visit comes as both sides are preparing to celebrate their Golden Jubilee anniversary since the start of diplomatic relations.
How Kuwait could cooperate with Parma, which is known for its high quality internationally listed foods, namely meats and cheeses, and its rich cultural and historic significance, was also a topic of discussion.
Mayor Pizzarotti, in the presence of Parma's Minister of Productive Activities, welcomed increased industrial and investment cooperation between businesses from both sides, and expressed keenness at the prospect of hosting Kuwaiti delegations who could pick up on both the city's and the continent's expertise on the matter.
The Kuwaiti ambassador was also taken on a cultural day-trip around the ancient city's castles, walkways and squares. (end) mn.sd
