Kuwait wins AIDMO executive board membership.

| RABAT, June 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait was voted Wednesday into the Executive Board and the Administrative and Financial Control Body of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO).

At the conclusion of the 22nd general assembly of AIDMO held here, the members also elected Adel Sagar Al-Sager of Kuwait assistant director general of the pan-Arab organization.

The AIDMO general assembly lasted three days and concluded with a ministerial meeting here, with the participation of delegations from 18 Arab countries. During the meetings, the assembly approved the Executive Board's performance and financial status reports.

The assembly also approved the budget of two years, 2013 and 2014 and appointed a new auditor.

For his part, Al-Sager expressed gratitude for the AIDMO members who elected him to the post of assistant director general.

"This election reflects Kuwait's strong presence on the regional arena," Al-Sager told.

He thanked all who voted for him and Kuwaiti ministries of industry and commerce and foreign affairs for rallying support for his election to the post.

Kuwait has participated in the assembly with large delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of Kuwait Industrial Development Agency Sager Farhan Al-Enzi. (end) adt.ibi KUNA 202304 Jun 12NNNN
