Kuwait envoy urges better relations with Ho Chi Minh City.

Kuwait, Dec. 20 (BNA) -- Kuwait's Consul General in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, Omar Suleiman Al-Qinaie, urged enhancing of economic cooperation between Kuwait and the "promising" city as Ho Chi Minh City is known. He called for investors to benefit from opportunities the city has to offer.

Al-Qinaie told Kuwait's news agency that in addition to the potential investment ventures, Ho Chi Minh's tourism sector represented a major attraction for Kuwaiti businesspeople. The opening of Phu Quoc International Airport, completed at the end of November 2012 in southern Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island offered easy access to Kuwait's tourists, he added .

The airport is built on nearly 900 hectares in Duong To village, Phu Quoc island-district, Kien Giang Province at an estimated cost of $810 million. The completion is expected to be in phases, he added. The new airport, 10 kilometers from the existing Phu Quoc Airport, can handle between 2.5 million passengers and seven million per annum.
