Kuwait PACI improves services with F5 solutions.

Kuwait's Public Authority for Civil Information

(PACI) had deployed infrastructure solutions from F5 Networks, to ensure

security and quality of services for e-government systems.

PACI is responsible for Kuwait's identity card scheme, and

it also provides a range of e-government services including Public Key Infrastructure

and Geographic Information Systems to other government departments.

F5 Networks has provided PACI with a set of solutions which

will improve security, availability and scalability of services.

"Kuwait is growing fast and PACI's infrastructure is relied

upon by a large number of government entities, so we need to ensure that we are

operating on the absolute cutting-edge when it comes to the availability,

scalability and security of our services," said Musaed Al-Asousi General

Director, PACI.

"Our data cannot be compromised and we must be available

24/7. F5 helps ensure PACI's infrastructure delivers a world-class service that

improves the lives of citizens and gives us accurate data to help shape

critical decision-making. This is particularly true when it comes to

strengthening our cyber-security capabilities to withstand the rise of

application-layer attacks in the region."

PACI is responsible for running a system to register and

keep track of Kuwait's population and related societal variables. The challenge

is intensifying as the country continues to develop and increase its population

with expatriates. PACI uses the information to support decision makers to make

informed decisions to support national-level planning, and to provide a

trusted, and reliable data source for different government, and private organisations.

PACI is currently running F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager

(LTM) to simplify, automate, and customize application delivery, and F5 BIG-IP Global

Traffic Manager (GTM) to ensure availability as well as scale and secure DNS

infrastructure during high query volumes and DDoS attacks. In addition, BIG-IP

Application Security Manager (ASM), a comprehensive web application firewall

(WAF), protects apps and data from known and unknown threats, defends against

bots that bypass standard protections, and virtually patches app

vulnerabilities.

"PACI is running a hugely impressive and important system

and is pioneering the process of population registration.. F5 is delighted to

support PACI's continued evolution and innovation as they adapt exciting growth

across the State of Kuwait," said Taj El Khayat, Gulf, Levant & North

Africa Director, F5 Networks.
