Kuwait Communication Min. ends visit to Beirut.

| (With photos) BEIRUT, April 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Communications Salem Al-Uthaina ended his visit here Thursday, after participating and heading Kuwait's delegation taking part in the Arab Satellite Communications Organizations (Arabsat) meeting.

Upon his departure, he was seen off by Kuwait Charge D'Affairs Fahad Al-Masoud.

The meeting discussed many important and strategic issues related to the Arabsat, including the six generation of expansion projects and modernizing satellite fleet.

During the gathering, the general budget of the organization was approved, and as well as Palestine's debts to the organization were written off.

The meeting accepted the proposal made by Bahrain for controlling satellite channells in order to stop violations against the national unity of Arab countries.

The Kuwaiti delegation consisted of Ministry of Communications Undersecretary Abdulmohsin Al-Mazidi, Assistant Undersecretary of Administrative affairs and Planning, Bathina Al- Subeaei, head of engineering Hameed Al-Qattan, Director of local sectors in international services Rashed Al-Uthaina, Mona Al-Sagan and Mansour Al-Uthaina from minister's office.

The meeting, chaired by Lebanon, attracted the participation of seven ministers of communication from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Libya, Sudan, Morocco and Algeria. (end) mam.hs KUNA 191752 Apr 12NNNN
