Kuwait : British oilfield services firm Petrofac wins KOC's $35M deal.
UK-based oilfield services company Petrofac has announced it has won a five-year deal to provide specialist technical training and competency development services for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
Petrofac was awarded the $35 million contract after a competitive tendering process.
The work will be carried out within Kuwait by the training services team which is part of Petrofacs Engineering & Production Services division.
The British company will support KOC in assessing and updating its competency systems and also develop and deliver technical training programmes to improve the capability of its operations and maintenance personnel.
Karim Osseiran, the VP (Training Services, Engineering & Production Services) East stated: "This is a highly innovative, long-term project. A team of more than 30 training professionals and technical specialists from Petrofac will be embedded within KOCs operations to deliver skills and competency-based learning and development services at the frontline of production operations."
He added, "This project will build legacy value through the development of systems and processes to operationalise human capability development where it matters the most, in the field. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support KOC throughout this journey and look forward to making a real difference to performance."
