Kuwait's First Deputy Premier hosts members of U.S. Congress.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah receives a number of members of the US Congress KUWAIT, March 21 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received at his bureau in Bayan Palace on Thursday a number of members of the US Congress, discussing issues of common interest. The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the Congress delegation included members John Garamendi, Paul Coook and Debra Haaland. They were accompanied by the US Ambassador to Kuwait Lawrence Silverman. The ministry statement said the two sides held cordial conversations and examined a number of topics. For his part, Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad lauded the deep-rooted relations between the two friendly countries and the mutual keenness on boosting these close ties. (end) am.rk
