Kurdistan Alliance ahead in Kirkuk.

After counting 95 percent of the votes in the historically Kurdish city of Kirkuk, the Kurdistan Alliance List is ahead of the other lists in the city.

The Independent High Electoral Commission has started counting the votes in 13 of the 22 polling stations and all of these stations are located in the Kurdish areas.

According to the preliminary results the Kurdistan Alliance takes the lead in the stations of the votes counted so far.

According to the recent tally in the ethnically mixed province of Kirkuk the Kurdistan Alliance is ahead by about two thousand votes of the other lists in particular the Iraqia List headed by Ayad Allawi in the whole province.Aa

The Kurdistan List is an alliance of the PUK and the KDP the two major Kurdish political parties in the Kurdistan Region and 11 other political parties and entities.
