Kurdish Militants Shoot Down Turkish Military Helicopter in Northern Syria.
Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Kurdish fighters shot down a Turkish military helicopter in Afrin region in Northern Aleppo amid intensifying clashes between the Kurds and Ankara forces.
The Kurdish-language Hawar news reported that a military helicopter of the Turkish army has been downed by the Kurds in the village of Qadah in Rajou region.
It further said that the Kurdish combatants destroyed an armored vehicle of the Turkish army units in the village of Haj Bolbol in Shih region.
In the meantime, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed to the army helicopter's crash, adding that the Ankara forces will give the Kurds a crushing response.
He further added that two Turkish military men were killed in the chopper's crash.
The Turkish Army General Staff announced in a statement earlier today that more than 1,140 Kurdish militias have thus far been killed in Operation Olive Branch of the Turkish Army troops and Ankara-backed militants in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo.
The army's statement said that the country's Air Force destroyed 36 Kurdish targets, including positions, arms and ammunition depots, killing 79 Kurds.
The statement said that the total number of the Kurdish combatants killed in Turkey's Operation Olive Branch now stands at 1,141.
In the meantime, local sources confirmed that the Ankara-backed militants managed to take control over the villages of Jalqa Tahtani, Jalqa Wastani, Jalqa Foqani and Saldou Jok after heavy fighting with the Kurds in Sheikh Hadid region East of Arin.
