Kopin to Showcase Customers' Video Eyewear Products at SID 2006; Emergence of Mobile Video Market Fuels New Products Powered by Company's Digital iVision Technology.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Kopin(R) Corporation (NASDAQ: KOPN) will showcase a sampling of its customers' video eyewear products - powered by Digital iVision(TM) technology - at the SID (Society for Information Display) 2006 Exhibition which runs tomorrow through Thursday at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center. The exhibition will feature the world's largest demonstration of commercially available mobile video eyewear products. Digital iVision technology offers Big Pictures On the Go in a compact package by compressing high-resolution images into tiny microdisplays and enlarging the images using optical elements.

"Our customers will demonstrate a rich assortment of products for a variety of applications including mobile viewing from storage devices such as iPods, gaming consoles and wireless handsets," said Dr. John C. C. Fan, Kopin's President and Chief Executive Officer. "These products offer consumers a choice in styles, weight, video resolution, optics, and power consumption. The mobile video revolution is here and we are at the cusp of video eyewear taking off. I urge everyone to come to our booth and see the great strides eyewear has made since the large gathering organized by us in Hong Kong last October."

Kopin will survey visitors who use the various eyewear products presented at its booth to identify consumer preferences. For survey participants, Kopin will hold drawings for three days, and award two winners per day an eyewear unit along with an iPod or a DVD player. The eyewear units are being donated by Estar, Excellent Media Group, Icuiti, MicroOptical, and Welton.

Products being displayed at Kopin's booth (#1636) include:

--Excellent Media Group Co.'s iTheater(TM) system, which incorporates Kopin's BDM(TM)-230K binocular display module in a compact eyewear weighing just 2.4 ounces. The iTheater system features a stylish, ergonomically comfortable design, and provides a large QVGA-resolution (320 x 240) color image equivalent to a 35-inch-diagonal screen viewed at a distance of seven feet.

The power is automatically turned on/off by detecting the video signal. It comes with thin, soft rubber eye covers that give the user more immersive experiences. The EVG230 MagicEye Cinema is combined with a 4-gigabyte portable media device that plays movies, videos and games.

--Icuiti's DV920 Digital Video Eyewear, winner of the Design Award at the 2005 and 2006 Consumer Electronics Show, incorporates two Kopin CyberDisplay(R) VGA color microdisplays to provide a 3D stereoscopic VGA-resolution (640 x 480) image. The DV920 is now available at the Sharper Image retail and online stores.

Ltd.'s Cyberman(TM) GVD510-3D, which incorporates two CyberDisplay VGA microdisplays, provides a 3D stereoscopic virtual image equivalent to a 40-inch flat-panel screen at a distance of seven feet.
