Knife terror for shop staff.

TWO female cashiers were bound together at knife-point during a raid on a Warrington shop. The women, aged 19 and 32, were confronted by a man at the Right Choice shop in Howson Road on Sunday night.

He brandished a knife and bound the women's hands with tape.

He stole cash from the safe and escaped in a car belonging to one of the cashiers, a red Lregistered Astra Merit.

The car was later found burned out in Lodge Lane, Sankey Valley Park.

Both women needed hospital treatment for shock but they were not injured. Police say the offender went to considerable lengths to disguise himself.

He wore a black false beard which was closely-cut and a tweed flat cap. He was dressed in a long charcoal-grey mac and black trousers.

He was about 5ft but his victims said he could have been hunching over to disguise his height. He had with him a old-fashioned style shopping trolley on wheels which he put the stolen cash into.
