Knife prompts American Airlines flight to make emergency landing.
An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing today (30 July) after a knife was discovered on board.
The pilot of the flight from New York's John F. Kennedy Airport requested a priority landing at its destination of Tokyo's Narita airport after a knife was discovered in a room for crew members near the cockpit. The knife was a switchblade with a two-inch blade.
The aircraft landed safely at Narita, where the 153 passengers and 15 crew members disembarked without further incident, reported Reuters.
