Knesset Member Warns of Israeli Military Measures.

RAMALLAH, August 3, 2011 (WAFA) - Knesset Member Mohammed Baraka, head of the Arab Democratic Front for Peace and Equality, Tuesday warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might resolve to military provocative measures to halt popular protests against his economical policy and the Palestinian bid to see United Nations recognition of a Palestinian state within 1967 borders in September.

Baraka said that news from Netanyahu's office expected the Israeli popular demonstration against the high rent and housing prices to end in September, which coincides with expected military operations and clashes between the Palestinians and the Israelis in correspondence to the UN vote on recognizing a Palestinian state. 'Netanyahu isn't concerned with what's happening in Israel now. He has already planned to strike the Palestinian bid by igniting the military situation instead of a political plan to end the conflict,' Baraka added in his speech to the Knesset. Baraka said that the relation between the Israeli government's economical policy and issues of conflict and peace are inseparable as the economical crisis stems from the war mentality, occupation and settlements that's why it is not a coincidencethat Netanyahuwants tohittheses issuesat the same time and by samemeans. He concluded that the Israeli government isn't just implementing a cruel economical policy, but it is also imposing a racist policy against the Arabs in Israel. R.Q./F.R.
