Klocwork Releases New Version of Static Analysis Tools for Java Developers To Understand and Perfect Software.
Klocwork, Inc., the leading provider of automated solutions for understanding and perfecting software, today announced a new version of its static analysis tools that dramatically extends support for Java across the entire product suite. The new products, inForce for Java, inSight for Java and inSpect for Java are the industry's first tools to allow Java software developers to understand and analyze large Java architectures with very complex relationships along multiple dimensions, providing their customers with innovative, near-perfect applications faster. These new versions, which include system-level analysis of large Java application architectures, and advanced defect detection and prevention capabilities for developers as a plug-in for Eclipse, a plug-in for the Rational Application Developer for WebSphere, or as a stand alone capability, are available immediately.
"Current conservative Gartner estimates place the number of professional Java developers at 2.5 million around the globe and we see Java in 90 percent of the Global 2000. We predict substantial growth in the Java development market, and forecast that number of developers to double by 2008," said Mark Driver, a research director with Gartner, Inc. "Java applications within organizations are growing larger, and with that growth comes an evolution of the code architecture. To understand and build off that code, organizations need to automate the code analysis process - the sheer volume of code presented in today's IT environments requires automation."
Because Java is an intrinsic part in the development of software within many organizations, the static analysis advantage of finding defects earlier in the build cycle will become increasingly important in order for Java developers to be successful. Now, these millions of developers can leverage Klocwork's automated static analysis tools to better understand their software architecture and improve it by identifying code defects, inefficiencies and security vulnerabilities.
"Java is a popular environment for developers, particularly in the mobile devices, telecommunications, and financial industries," said Djenana Campara, founder and CTO of Klocwork. "Java has grown up, and now we're seeing very large and more complex Java applications being developed, which require the same comprehensive support that Klocwork already delivers to C and C++ developers. Klocwork has always been committed to the development community, and with this announcement, we are further extending Klocwork's ability to improve the development process for our users."
Java support is available immediately in all of Klocwork's products. Klocwork's architecture visualization product, inSight, is now able to provide a system-level analysis of large Java architectures. Klocwork inForce, which provides an in-depth analysis of code defects and security vulnerabilities, now offers a plug-in for Eclipse, a plug-in for the Rational Application Developer for WebSphere, and a standalone application that allows a developer to point at their Java application and quickly find problems that could be performance or security related. Klocwork inSpect, which analyzes source code and provides a summary and ranking of code problems, now features enhanced Java metrics.
Klocwork is the leading provider of automated solutions for understanding and perfecting software. Klocwork's static analysis products detect and prevent software defects and security vulnerabilities, and provide architectural visualization and modeling tools to provide dramatic improvements to a company's source code. The firm's patented core technology was developed and used for five years within Nortel Networks and has been deployed at several Fortune 500 accounts, known for having the most demanding software development environments in the world. Klocwork is a privately held company with offices in Ottawa, Ontario, Burlington, Massachusetts, and San Jose, California.
