Klar Realty donates appliances to local group.

Steven Klar, president of East Meadow-based Klar Organization, has donated 98 appliances to the Lake Grove Treatment Centers of New York, Inc. The appliances will be placed in Lake Grove Treatment Centers' group homes throughout Long Island, which serve the needs of local residents living with mental illness, chemical addiction, and HIV.

The appliances, which consist of refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and stoves, had been used in Klar model homes and rental apartments on Long Island. Upon learning of the need for appliances in the various Lake Grove group homes, Steven Klar decided to put these appliances to use, helping local community members improve their quality of life.

"For many people on Long Island, the difference that new appliances can make in their everyday lives is tremendous," says Klar. "We're happy that our contributions will have such a positive impact on so many Long Islanders who are living with a variety of problems."

"We are thrilled by the generous donation made by Steven Klar, and have already placed the appliances in 20 of our homes in the area," says Anthony Grimaldi, executive director of Lake Grove Treatment Centers of New York. "This donation will go a very long way in helping our residents, and we are grateful for the generosity shown by Steven Klar and his company.
