Kislak Company celebrates 100th anniversary at Newark Museum.

The Kislak Company, Inc., the dominant multi-family and retail investment sales firm in the tri-state region, recently hosted a Centennial Celebration at The Newark Museum to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary.

The event drew over 300 guests, including members of the Kislak family, current and former employees of the entire Kislak Organization, clients, friends, colleagues and special guests.

Steve Adubato, Ph.D. and four-time Emmy Award-winner, was the emcee of the event, which included speeches from noted business leaders and Kislak executives along with tributes from current and former employees.

Special guest speaker, Jonathan Tisch, chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels and co-chairman of Loews Corporation, was on hand to present keynote remarks about Kislak and its leadership in the business, real estate and philanthropic communities.

Jay I. Kislak, chairman of the board of J. I. Kislak, Inc., the Kislak Organization's parent company, spoke on behalf of the organization and family and shared his thoughts on Kislak's proud history.

"What a great honor it is to celebrate our 100th year in business with so many of our friends and colleagues," said Jay Kislak. "This milestone would not have been possible without the support, hard work and dedication of each and every employee of our company, our loyal friends, clients, colleagues and family members-this is truly a celebration that many people are responsible for.

"What distinguishes Kislak today, as it did 100 years ago, is our tradition of conducting business through developing meaningful personal relationships with our clients, and the strong personal values and principals that are a part of our business. While much has changed over the past 100 years, what hasn't changed is our commitment to personal growth, professionalism and excellence."

Jeffrey P. Wiener, president of The Kislak Company, added, "This extraordinary achievement is a tribute to the class, integrity and compassion of the Kislak family itself. As a company and an organization, we have thrived in the real estate business through perseverance, focus and a passion for client service. Our longevity is due to the talented team we have assembled at Kislak."

The Kislak Company is a pioneer in the real estate industry. Founded in 1906 by Julius I. Kislak (J. I.) in Hoboken, NJ, the company is a leader in the sale of investment real estate. Kislak is also one of the most recognizable names in New Jersey's business and charitable circles.

J. I. was instrumental in developing the art of commercial real estate brokerage. In the decades that followed, the company expanded into property management, insurance and mortgage services.

During the 1950s, J. I.'s son, Jay Kislak, expanded the company's mortgage services division, founding J. I. Kislak Mortgage Corporation and moving the company's operation to Miami and eventually Miami Lakes, FL. J. I. Kislak Mortgage Corporation grew from six employees during the 1950s to over 1,100 by the mid-1990s. Under the leadership of Jay Kislak, the Kislak Organization became one of the largest privately held real estate and financial service providers in the United States. The organization included The Kislak Company, J. I. Kislak Mortgage Corporation, J. I. Kislak Insurance Agency, The Kislak National Bank and a host of affiliates.

Today, The Kislak Company maintains its position as one of the dominant investment sales companies in the tri-state region. J. I. Kislak, Inc. is an innovative real estate investment firm with a portfolio that includes several thousand apartment units and a variety of commercial properties nationwide. JIK Properties, Inc. provides comprehensive management services for Kislak's multifamily properties.
