Kirusa Launches Application Development Program; Program to Create Cooperative Effort Among Wireless Companies to Accelerate The Deployment and Adoption of Multimodal Applications That Improve the Mobile User Experience.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Kirusa, the leading developer of multimodal platforms that enable the delivery of wireless applications through a combination of voice, text, graphics and keypad interfaces, today announced the availability of the Kirusa Application Development Program (KADP), a comprehensive development program for application developers engaged in designing and implementing wireless multimodal applications. Through this program, Kirusa will provide comprehensive technical information, support and a testing environment for the development of multimodal applications.

The program has already attracted the attention of some of today's most aggressive wireless application developers. Premier members of the Kirusa Application Development Program include JSmart (Burlington, Vt.,) Orange Mobile Internet for Business (Paris, France), and Telelogue (Iselin, N.J.). "Multimodal telecommunication services require a unique expertise, and it is only through the collaboration of technology leaders such as those supporting Kirusa's KADP, that a complete solution can be offered to carriers and enterprises that will be easily adopted for the masses," said Amir Mane, CEO, of Telelogue.

"The Kirusa Application Development Program is providing third-party application developers, and Kirusa partners and customers with the technical and marketing assistance they need to multimodalize new or existing applications," said Dr. Inderpal Singh Mumick, CEO and founder of Kirusa. Dr. Mumick continued, "In addition to tools and a support forum, the Kirusa Application Development Program will become a community in the true sense of the word and ultimately, an incubator for emerging multimodal businesses."

"We believe multimodality to be the most significant emerging technology in the communications industry over the next several years. Today's battle cry for Kirusa is "multimodality in motion" -- signifying our commitment to wireless multimodality through education and wireless partnerships," added Per Jacobsen, director of the Kirusa Application Development Program. Mr. Jacobsen continued, "An infrastructure provider cannot act solely as a bricklayer, only establishing the backbone for the technology. We must now step up to the challenge of acting as a full-fledged end-to-end builder, with the responsibility for creating an environment that will accelerate the growth of multimodality."
