Kirklees Creative Summit 2012.

Tuesday February 21 at Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield The 2012 Kirklees Creative Summit celebrates the Kirklees creative spirit, even during these challenging times of austerity. The day provides people from the creative sector and those interested in this area to get together, share ideas, network and celebrate the many and varied ways that the creative sector benefits local people and places.

Taking inspiration from Lewis Hyde's book 'The Gift: How the creative spirit transforms the world' - the Summit will explore, celebrate and share the gifts we have in the creative sector in Kirklees, and examine the tensions the sector faces in the new market place.

The day will be filled with inspirational key-note speakers, provocative debate and discussion, creative activities and sharing successes. There will also be a 'swap and share' time where requests and offers of skills, time, facilities and space can be exchanged. Whether you are an individual artist, a creative business, work professionally or are in an amateur group, area student, manager, policy maker, teacher or academic - there area variety of ways in which you can make your contribution before and on the day.
