Kirin U.S.A. unveils its 12-oz. Ichiban.

Kirin U.S.A. and Martlet Importing announced the introduction of a 12-oz. version of Kirin Ichiban as a result of the rapid sales growth of the 21.4-oz. bottle in Japanese restaurants, both companies reported.

The new package will be available in New York and Florida accounts beginning in April, and can be found in Illinois, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey markets later in the spring, according to the Martlet Importing Co.

A Martlet spokesperson reported that Kirin Ichiban has sold over 300,000 cases since its introduction in November 1990.

"Kirin U.S.A. has developed the 12-oz. package to meet the needs of its American customers and build off-premise sales," said John Gomatos, vice president o general market sales at Martlet.
