Separate contests will be held in two divisions: junior (up to age 19) and senior (ages 19-26). The junior and senior prizes offered in each of the six preliminary contests and in the piano solo contest--piano concerto, bowed instrument concerto, non-bowed instrument concerto and piano solo--are $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $200 for third place respectively.
Additional special prizes include the $500 Judge Woodrow Laughlin Award for best piano concerto performance and other prizes for bowed and non-bowed instruments.
