King hails performance of Jordan national football team.

Amman, Sept. 17 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday hailed recent accomplishments that have been achieved by Jordan's national football team which boosted its chance to reach the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. At a meeting with the national football team and members of the administrative and technical staff, the King expressed appreciation for efforts exerted by the football team which culminated in their win over the Australia in the World Cup Qualifiers.

His Majesty also voiced his full support to Jordan's football team, adding he was continuously following up their activities and performance.

At the meeting, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, the President of the Jordan Football Federation and FIFA Vice President, members of the team expressed their appreciation of the King's support and stressed their keenness to improve their performance and achieve more accomplishments.

Jordan stunned Australia 2-1 in a 2014 World Cup qualifier last Tuesday, dealing a serious blow to the Socceroos' hopes of reaching the tournament in Brazil.

With the victory, Jordan moved into second in Group B behind Japan with four points.
