Kimberly-Clark announces second quarter sales.

Sales in the second quarter, for the period ending June 30, rose 3.6% to $1.7 billion worldwide and second quarter income rose 12% at Kimberly-Clark, Dallas, TX. A net income of $138.1 million was reported, up from $123.2 million reported for the same quarter last year. The company did say that some of the increase in profit came as the result of legal fees it recovered from the settlement of the diaper anti-trust lawsuit with competitor Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, OH.
