Killing in Karachi.

KARACHI: At least five people were gunned down or killed in different parts of Karachi, including a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist on Wednesday whereas the doctors and paramedics shut down the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital outpatient department to mourn and protest the killing of a doctor yesterday.

Sources said that Farast Mirza alias Pasha, who was the chief of MQM unit in Gulbahar was gunned down by unknown assailants.

One person was killed in Keamari town whereas two bodies were found severally from Soharb Goth and Adam Khan Road of Lyari town.

A car was shot at near the Board Office in Nazimabad town and a man was killed whereas another got injured.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of Dr Asad Usman were held and attended by a large number of people including the staff of the hospital. Dr. Usman was killed on Tuesday when his car was ambushed by unknown killers.

The doctors and paramedics of the hospital closed down the out patient department for at least three days to protest the killing of the doctor. They rallied outside the hospital and demanded the government and the police to arrest the killers within three days otherwise they would extend the shut down of OPD.
