Killer Nevin may name gunmen.
BLACK Widow Catherine Nevin may name the men who murdered her husband as part of her appeal.
And the 49-year-old who is serving life in Mountjoy Prison has bragged to pals there about a secret witness who she believes will help her win her freedom.
A prison source said: ''She is determined to be released at all costs.
"She constantly talks about new evidence from a mystery person which will be revealed at the hearing."
Nevin's lawyers will appear in the Court of Criminal Appeal on January 22 to set a date for her case.
The source added: "At this stage she has nothing to lose and she knows that."
Nevin, who was convicted of landlord Tom Nevin's murder last April, was given an extra hour in bed yesterday as a Christmas treat. It was also revealed that she hasn't missed mass since she was jailed.
None of the former staff of her husband's Co Wicklow pub, Jack White's Inn, have tried to visit her in prison.
One-time employee Alan Gaynor said: "Why would any of us ever want to see her?
"We've had absolutely no dealings with her since she was sentenced."
Legal experts say that if Nevin does not win her appeal she will probably have to spend 10 to 14 more years behind bars.
She could be released early on licence - but only if she co-operated with detectives in catching the gunman or gunmen who killed publican Tom.
Her lawyers are expected to blame "negative" media coverage during the 42-day trial as one of the reasons for grounds for their appeal.
Most of Nevins' friends and family have now deserted her.
But they have gathered round to comfort her ageing mother, Mary, who was devastated by her daughter's heartless plot to murder her husband on March 19, 1996.
