Killed doc 'pestered'.

THE mother of murdered doctor Joan Francisco wept in court yesterday as she told of her daughter's last hours.

Venus Francisco learned of the tragedy after alerting police when Joan failed to answer the phone at her flat.

Joan, 27, was allegedly strangled by obsessed ex-boyfriend Tony Diedrick.

Mrs Francisco told the Old Bailey jury she had asked Diedrick to "leave Joan alone" just weeks before her death.

She said he had started pestering Joan with calls and letters more than five years after he last had contact with the family.

The court also heard Joan had received death threats and was disturbed by underwear going missing from her flat.

Computer operator Diedrick, 39, of Maida Vale, west London, denies murder. The case continues.
