Kids get behind the wheel in Abu Dhabi safety drive.

The road safety message was driven home to Abu Dhabi residents over the Eid Al Adha holidays as cops held an exhibition on the corniche.

The force's media department organised the event under the slogan 'The etiquette of driving on roads, speed is for racetracks'.

A traffic village for children, pictured above, was set up with the aim to familiarise them with traffic rules and regulations and promote the concept of safe driving.

Police also showcased their fastest patrol car, the 'F-999', which resembles a Formula 1 car.

The event was part of the preparation for Yasalam 2012 and the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which runs from November 2 to 4 at the Yas Marina Circuit.
