Kidnapping attempt: Elderly man arrested in Karachi.

KARACHI -- A 60-year-old man was caught red-handed by a crowd of people in the Sher Shah locality following screaming and shouting by a minor girl, who the man was allegedly attempting to assault and kidnap. Police said that the accused person was trying to take away the eight-year-old girl when she started screaming and shouting and a crowd of people gathered at the spot, foiling the kidnapping bid. The crowd caught the elderly man and beat him up before handing him over to the police. Police officials said that they were investigating the case to ascertain whether the accused was intentionally trying to kidnap the girl to sexually assault her. No case was registered, while further investigation is under way.
