Kia Motors Corporation (KSE: 000270), a South Korea-based automaker, has revealed details of the Rear Occupant Alert system.

The system is designed to help prevent infants and sleeping children from being left behind in rear seats. It uses ultrasonic sensors to detect passengers in second and third rows. It issues three separate alerts to the driver's mobile phone app to let him/her know a rear passenger is still on-board the vehicle.

The Rear Occupant Alert system is only available in the Kia Telluride midsize SUV.
