Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor holds talks with Omar Al-Rawi, member of the Vienna Provincial Parliament.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor met with His Excellency Omar Al-Rawi, a member of the Vienna Provincial Parliament at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Thursday 27 April 2017. Al-Rawi is also a member of the Vienna City Council, a member of the City Council Committee on Urban Development, Traffic and Transport, Climate Protection, Energy Planning and Public Participation. He is also a spokesperson for the Social Democratic Party (SPEu) on Urban Development. He was accompanied by Nasser Khan, Commercial Advisor, Austrian Embassy, Commercial Section at the Austrian Trade Commission (UAE, Bahrain, Kuwati, Qatar & Pakistan).

The visit was a courtesy call to see Chairman Al Habtoor. His Excellency also passed on the regards from the Governor of Vienna.

HE Al-Rawi is in the United Arab Emirates following an address at the 8th Ajman International Urban Planning Conference, which it took place in Ajman between 24-26 April.

The Al Habtoor Group owns the historic Hotel Imperial, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Vienna. The hotel was originally built as a private residence for Prince Philipp of Wurttemberg.

Al Habtoor said he was very proud of his investment in Austria, which he acquired in 2016.

"Austria is a wonderful city," he said. "It is full of history and culture, and the people are very welcoming."

Al-Rawi informed the Chairman that Vienna had just been named city with highest quality of life in the world for eighth consecutive year by Mercer. Vienna is home to a strong cafe culture, and has a host of museums, theatres and famous opera. The study examined social and economic conditions, health, education, housing and the environment, and is used by big companies to assess where they should locate and how much they should pay staff.
