Keys' vile race slur on Scots hopeful.

SHAMED Richard Keys was last night at the centre of a racism row - after it was revealed he called a black player who hoped to play for Scotland a "choco jocko".

The telly anchor made the remark while rehearsing for a Sky broadcast with ex-Rangers stars Graeme Souness and Ray Wilkins.

They were discussing Jamaican-born Nottingham Forest striker David Johnson.

The conversation focussed on the possibility of Johnson playing for Scotland in a Euro 2000 play-offagainst England.

Keys said : "Obv iously Johnson , who t he y 've (Scotland) courted for some time, like the Welsh, hoped to get involved and it transpires he has an English mother, which means he can only play for England apparently."

Wilkins starts asking a question, saying: "Is it, is he not?" before Souness interrupts and says: "He looks like a Jock, doesn't he?" Without hesitation, Keys replies: "Choco Jocko."

The sick comment, which was made 11 years ago, was met by embarrassed laughter from others.

Johnson, now a footbal l agent, said he was "very disappointed" to hear of the comments.

Ged Gebby, boss of pressure group Show Racism The Red Card, said: "For a commentator to be making this kind of comment is outrageous."
