The Kenyan central bank has said that it is to extend Imperial Bank's receivership.

According to Reuters, the apex bank said that it would extend the receivership by a year. This is intended to help the bank to finalise a deal with a strategic investor in the bank.

The firm was put into receivership in October 2015 for suspected malpractices.
