Kentz secures contract for King Fahd, Jubail ports.
Kentz Engineering International Co. Ltd (KEIL), alongside partners Ali Khudair Al-Harbi and Ahmed Omar Radi Engineering Consultancy, has been awarded a technical services contract for King Fahd Industrial Port and Jubail Commercial Port.
The five-year contract with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu comprises the design and engineering works for electricity and communication facilities at the two marine complexes.
The scope of the agreement also includes service provisioning for the residential districts at Jubail-II.
Seamus Malynn, GM of Kentz Engineering International Co. Ltd., commented: "Kentz has been operating in Saudi Arabia now for over 35 years and is pleased to be involved in these key projects. The award underpins our commitment building on existing relationships and consistent delivery."
Kentz won a related contract in December 2012, also through its Technical Support Services unit.
Work on the first contract involved the planning, design and engineering of primary and secondary infrastructure for the residential community and the preparation the construction bid packages.
From humble beginnings as a local electrical contractor in Clonmel, Ireland, the global organisation now employs 14,500 people across 30 countries.
Saudi Arabia was the location of the very first international operations for the firm in the late 1970s when it successfully completed a project with an American engineering and construction partner.
