Kenneth Balk and Associates Inc.

Durrant's president and CEO, R. Nicholas Loope, FATA, and COO, Charles Marsden, PE, concluded the agreement to merge Kenneth Balk and Associates Inc. (KBA) into Durrant July 1. Kenneth Balk, founder of KBA said, "This partnership is a good fit and provides exceptional opportunities while advancing the goals of both firms." Founded in 1959, and ranked within the top 500 professional engineering firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record and among the top five professional design firms in the St. Louis area, KBA will operate as KBA Durrant under the management of principal Ed Eslinger, a retired architect. Eslinger, has been with KBA for the past 18 years. Balk will support the merger transition and duties at the Durrant corporate level. KBA Durrant falls under the direction of William A. Baker, FATA, of Durrant's mountain region.

KBA's services include architectural and engineering design, land surveying, mapping, data management services and the construction management of selected building and land development projects. The corporate philosophy of KBA, which is based on client service, personnel development, embracing innovation and technology, and making contributions to the industry and community at large, will mesh with Durrant's commitment to excellence. Durrant is an acclaimed architectural, engineering, construction management, information and security systems design, planning and interior design firm.
