Kennametal Inc. (People News).

At Kennametal Inc. (Latrobe, Pa.), John Q. Stang is named VP of global sales for the metalworking business unit, the company's largest of four divisions. He joins from Ingersoll Rand Co., where he's had global marketing and sales experience, and he reports directly to Pat Mahanes, VP and COO of the tooling company's metalworking solutions and services group. Stang, 48, holds degrees including an MBA from Loyola College of Baltimore. Kennametal's metalworking group accounted for 56% of the company's $1.6-billion in sales in fiscal 2002. It will also be home to Widia's European and Indian operations when that acquisition from Milacron Inc. closes in the next few weeks.
