Ken will make someone very happy with gift of art...

Byline: Alli Pyrah

A FINE art graduate is auctioning off one of his paintings to raise money for a children's hospice.

Retired engineer Ken Marshall, 66, took up painting after spending decades sketching pipes. Now Ken, who has a BA in fine art from Teesside University, will auction off his mixed media picture Happy Valley to the highest bidder to raise money for Zoe's Place in Normanby.

"It's called Happy Valley because if you look at it there's a lot of little birds on the fence singing," said Ken, of Tudor Crescent, Thorntree.

"I'm experimenting with expansion foam and the sheep and the waterfall are ideal subjects for expansion foam."

Make a bid before June 25 by calling Ken on 01642 244207.
